JAHRE YVP MUSIC 1984-2004
Die Zeit ist schnell vergangen. Nach fünfundzwanzig Jahren
Schallplatten-Industrie hängte ich meinen Job als Presse-
und Promotionschef bei einer der größten Plattenfirmen
der Welt, der EMI ELECTROLA HIS MASTERS VOICE in Köln
an den Nagel und machte den Sprung ins kalte Wasser um meine
eigene Plattenfirma zu gründen. Nach dem berühmten
Markenzeichen der EMI, "Grammophon und Hund" nun
unter eigener Fahne mit dem Logo yvp music.
Es
war das Jahr 1984. Für George Gruntz durfte ich für
die "Berliner Jazztage" die italienische Nacht gestalten
und damit unter anderem Enrico Pieranunzi erstmals nach Deutschland
holen. Ich kannte diesen Tasten-Giganten nur vom Hören.
Wir wurden sofort Freunde.
Enrico habe ich sehr viel zu verdanken. Enrico Pieranunzi
ist das "Zugpferd" meines Labels und hat die Marke
yvp music in die große weite Welt des Jazz getragen.
Auf 17 CDs ist Enrico Pieranunzi bislang bei yvp music zu
hören. Enrico Pieranunzi ist die europäische Antwort
auf Bill Evans und wurde vor kurzem zum "Jazzmusiker
des Jahres 2003/2004" in Italien gewählt.
Rund 80 Minuten TOP JAZZ FROM EUROPE ist für eine CD
sicherlich eine gute Zeit, doch es gibt viel, viel mehr zu
hören und zu sagen.
yvp music wurde 1984 von dem Musikproduzenten York v. Prittwitz
gegründet. Schwerpunkt ist dabei der europäische
Jazz, wobei immer auch wieder Nachwuchsmusikern Gelegenheit
gegeben wird, sich zu präsentieren, yvp music teilt sich
in drei Marken: Neben dem eigentlichen Label yvp music sind
es DEMON und das dem zeitgenössischen Jazz vorbehaltene
Label ART-PUR.
Enrico Pieranunzi und all den anderen Musikern, die in den
vergangenen zwanzig Jahren von yvp music produziert wurden
und ihre Kompositionen vertrauensvoll in meine Hände
gaben, möchte ich auf diesem Wege allerherzlichst danken.
Sehr herzlich möchte ich mich auch bei meinen Freunden,
langjährigen Geschäftspartnern, den TV- und Radioredakteuren
und Journalisten bedanken, die mich in diesen zwanzig Jahren
begleitet haben.

YEARS YVP MUSIC 1984-2004
Time has passed quickly. And it looks like we've come a long
... It was the year of 1984. After 25 years in the record
business I quit my job as Promotion Manager with one of the
world's major Record Companies - EMI ELECTROLA HIS MASTER'S
VOICE at Cologne. I felt time was ready to do my own thing
and I decided to make that big step into the unknown. After
the legendary EMI brand with the dog and the grammophone it
was now my very own "yvp music".
In that year of 1984.1 had the honor of being asked to manage
and organize the Italian Night for George Gruntz at his "Berliner
Jazztage" and that was when I first met Enrico Pieranunzi.
I had heard a lot about this great masters of the piano and
we became friends in no time. I owe Enrico a lot. He is the
big star of yvp music and he still plays a major role in carrying
out that' name into the world of jazz.
Enrico Pieranunzi has published 17 CDs with yvp music. He
has often been compared with Bill Evans and just recently
he was elected "Jazz Musician of the Year 2003/2004"
in Italy. About 80 minutes of TOP JAZZ FROM EUROPE certainly
make a nice CD, but of course, there's so much more to hear
and say ...
yvp music was started in 1984 by publisher and producer York
v. Prittwitz. The label focuses on European jazz, while at
the same time it offera chances for young, upcoming artists
to present their works, yvp music basically consists of three
labels: yvp music, DEMON and ART-PUR, a label reserved for
contemporary jazz.
I want to say "THANK Y0U!" to Enrico Pieranunzi
and to all those other musicians who were published on yvp
music and who trustfully put their works into my hands.
My appreciation also goes to my friends, my partners in business
and to all those nice people at the tv-stations, radio-stations
and newspapers - all those who shared my way during those
past twenty wonderful years.
