yvp music wurde 1984 von dem Verleger und Musikproduzenten York v. Prittwitz gegründet. Schwerpunkt ist dabei der europäische Jazz, wobei immer auch wieder Nachwuchsmusikern Gelegenheit gegeben wird, sich zu präsentieren. yvp music teilt sich in drei Marken: Neben dem eigentlichen Label yvp music sind es DEMON und das dem zeitgenössischen Jazz vorbehaltene Label ART-PUR. Zudem vertreibt yvp music das Label Splasc(h) aus Italien. yvp music bietet dadurch weltweit die kompletteste Dokumentation des aktuellen italienischen Jazzgeschehens. Ingesamt werden ca. 750 Produktionen vertrieben, davon rund 180 Eigenproduktionen. Star ist dabei der italienische Pianist Enrico Pieranunzi, der es inzwischen allein auf 12 Einspielungen für yvp music bringt.

Featured artist of the label is the italian piano player Enrico Pieranunzi, who has recorded 12 CDs for yvp music.
